Remich intends to increase its population from 3,600 to 5,100 inhabitants!

May 16, 2017

This beautiful little town is ideally located on the bank of the Moselle river. The charm and the scenery of this commune of Luxembourg are well known, and the future inhabitants would like to enjoy it. There are many who want to settle there, but due to lack of space, just as elsewhere in the Grand Duchy, there is only a few who are able to do so.

A new construction project is about to be launched. It is a new district on the heights of Remich that could accommodate around 1,500 additional residents, which is almost one third of the current population.

The 22-hectare project currently includes plots and agricultural land belonging to 121 landowners with whom it is still necessary to negotiate. But the commune is optimistic. As you can see, it is already thinking about a way to avoid traffic congestion in the city with these additional residents, and it has already anticipated the issue by installing a water treatment plant that can count up to 5,500 inhabitants in total.

Within ten years, it is possible that the project has emerged from the soil. Enough sweating it out if you are one of those people who are eagerly waiting to put down your suitcases in Remich!
