Bathrooms are successful too!

November 12, 2015

Bathrooms and shower rooms increasingly charm all kinds of clients, as they adapt perfectly to new decorating trends. Whether you’re looking for a classic, cubicle or walk-in shower, choosing a bathroom is as painstaking a process as deciding which kitchen to invest in! So if you’re about to move house or renovate (or if you’re just a little curious…), this article is for you!

First of all, make sure you ask yourself the right questions. This type of project involves large sums of money. Indeed, whether you’re a small or large family, you’ll need to set up your new room according to some simple yet essential decisions. How many storage units do you want? Which sanitary units have you decided to install? How many radiators will you have? How many people will be using the bathroom? Is there enough space? Will there be a shower or bath? And of course, what is your budget?

Once you’ve completed this phase, you’ll know whether you want to construct the room yourself or whether you prefer to hire professionals. In this case, you will need to contact them to request quotes. In both cases, take the time to plan the location of the water mains inlets and outlets, as well as electrical connections. This stage is very important and must be carried out following strict safety guidelines, in accordance with standards. As for the sanitary installations, these should be adapted to your previously determined dimensions. Make sure you make the right choices regarding the products you’ll use because once they have been installed it will be difficult to go back if you notice mistakes. The best thing to do is to follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the assembly and maintenance of the equipment.

Another thing to think about is the lighting. If you overlook switches and plugs, you’re likely to find yourself in the dark! Currently, only 2 types of lighting are recommended internationally: general lighting and local lighting. General lighting is positioned on the ceiling, while local lighting is installed around the mirror and sink area. The final stage, and without doubt the best, is the decoration.

There is no particular advice to follow here, just… let your imagination run wild! And to help you find better ideas, we invite you to browse our bathroom photo gallery by clicking here.
